New food cart: Cowherds vegan lunch + breakfast in Greengate Square
Cowherds serve a breakfast menu that includes chia pudding, mulberry granola and avocado toast. The menu moves onto a lunchtime offering of salads including raw pad Thai with a garlic, almond butter and ginger dressing. There is also a seasonal, daily hot dish to warm the cockles.

New Taxi/US food truck: EAT NEW YORK at MediaCity’s The Greenhouse
Manchester-based diner EAT NEW YORK is the newest indie food outlet to arrive, serving American specialities such as salt beef bagels and sourdough pretzels with blue cheese sauce. Trading from a yellow taxi cab-style food truck, the outlet joins The Hip Hop Chip Shop and Bombay Dabbawala on The Splat outside The Greenhouse. Pay a visit for street food al fresco.

Special menu: Independence Day feast at Urmston’s Get Chucked
This country loves a bit of Stateside fun, especially if it involves food. This Monday’s Independence Day is being celebrated by Urmston-based Get Chucked, as they present their Up In Smoke Club. Serving American style low’n’slow BBQ fare, tickets include a starter of Tex-Mex beef tacos or corn dogs, followed by a range of baby back ribs, 16-hour smoked pulled pork with beans, slaw and cornbread, rounding the feast off with bourbon pecan pie or deep fried cheescake. That’s right, deep fried cheesecake. Whiskey sours, gin fizzes and lager will be available to wash it all down.
