While the water may not flow any more, the gin certainly will, as Victoria Baths (pictured) hosts next year’s Manchester Gin Festival. Following the success of this year’s sold out event, the two-day festival in March 2015 will offer over 80 different gins to celebrate both the traditional and finer craft distilleries from all corners of the globe. Originally started by husband and wife team Jym and Marie Harris back in 2012, this next outing promises not only enough gin to sink at least a small boat, but live entertainment and talks from leading gin experts (for those who like a bit of knowledge with their tonic). Most drinks will come in at around £5 – with essential tonics and garnishes, plus food to line the stomach, also available. With enough gin-based buffoonery to suit both beginner and expert, mother’s ruin never tasted so good.
