Manchester Literature Festival will bring New York-based novelist Hari Kunzru to Central Library to read from his new noir ghost thriller White Tears. The British Indian author made headlines in 2003 when he scored a £1.25m publishing deal for his award-winning debut The Impressionist. He has since won praise from writers David Mitchell and Annie Proulx. White Tears is his fifth novel and tells the story of record collectors who develop an obsession with an old blues song. The reading includes a discussion with writer Nikesh Shukla, editor of the critically-lauded essay anthology The Good Immigrant.
