Look out for a Blur club night at Northern Quarter stalwart, Night and Day, where DJs will be playing some of the band’s classic tracks. From their debut album Leisure, to last year’s The Magic Whip, the original indie band, Blur, have a quarter of a century’s worth of hits to pick from. You’ll also hear some of Graham Coxon’s solo work and songs by Damon Albarn’s cartoon friends Gorillaz. For a bit of variety, they’ll also throw in some stuff by other, inferior Britpop bands. A Blur night in Manchester could be a risky prospect – let’s hope it doesn’t get gatecrashed by Oasis fans. Whatever happens, the event is on the day before Spring Bank Holiday, so at least there’s a Recovery Monday afterwards.
