Following the success of last year’s regular Makers Markets in the Northern Quarter, weekend fun returns to Stevenson Square on Sunday 13 March. For the first Northern Quarter market of 2016, there’s a bumper line up of independent vendors selling everything from jams and earrings to home furnishings and street food. Be sure to sample Funky Nuts thrilling nut butters, chilli jams from Mrs. P and Alex Bakery’s cupcakes. Vegans can enjoy a ‘date’ with The Raw Bake Station while at the other end of the foodie spectrum, the Cumbrian Pig is serving up veggie and meat pies. Tuck into free-range, organic Turkish-English cooking from Stomping Ground and burgers from What’s Your Beef as you take a tour of what’s on offer. Browsing opportunities include vintage furniture, photography, cool artwork and ingredients to take your store cupboard to the next level. We particularly like the look of Statement Artwork’s posters, illustrations and furnishings from Gods and Other Animals and Loose Buttons mid-century upholstery. Just in time for a Spring refresh, your garden will thank you for a visit to Oxey-Daisy with easy to care for shrubs and plants galore. Obviously, music is the food of life and local legend, DJ Pasta Paul, will have all his hands on deck. Check out the event page for more info: www.facebook.com
