After the success of the Levenshulme market, which came to prominence last year, it’s times for Manchester’s other suburbs to get in on the act, with local independents coming together in the multicultural hub of Moss Side to present local goods, gifts, food and drinks. A six-month pilot scheme of monthly markets is set to kick off at the beginning of April, with a hope of continuing on after that trial period. To help interest and indeed businesses, the market is offering free stall rents for the first month – so sign up here if you’re an independent trader looking to flog your wares. There’s talk of local drinks specialists the Moss Cider Project (pictured) being one of the first local operators to get involved, and if that’s the calibre of traders then Moss Side Market may well give Levenshulme a run for its money.
