The team behind Liverpool’s Leaf have opened a new branch of their cafe bar concept on Portland Street. Leaf has taken over the Grade-II listed former Cube Gallery, serving over 60 loose leaf teas (hence the name), quality drinks and casual food. We like the sound of the eggs benedict, maple porridge, modern mezze platters and mains like Jerk lamb rump with coconut and coriander rice, roast garlic beans and an tea and mango dressing. Most dishes are under £12. There’s also a 300 person capacity space for gigs and private events. This is the Leaf group’s first venue in Manchester. Opening times are as follows: Mon-Thu 8am-midnight, Fri 8am – 2am, Sat 9am-2am, Sun 9am-midnight. Review to follow.
