With street food a firm favourite on Britain’s plate, The Avenue at Spinningfields is the location for the Thai Leisure Group’s newest venture, Thaikhun. This Bangkok vendor-style eating experience complements the group’s other outfits, Chaophraya and Chaobaby in the Trafford Centre and is one of just two restaurants designed by chef and street food aficionado Kim Kaewkraikhot, the other being set for Aberdeen. Expect a simple, rustic style street eating experience, with interior and food to match. With a focus on traditional lighter nibbles and sharing bowls – such as soups, grilled meats and noodle dishes – Thaikhun also serves up beer and cocktails, with classics such as the Mojito taking on a Thai spin. With Thaikhun’s focus to showcase the heady flavours of Bangkok street traditions, look out for grilled vegetables and cute Thai curries.

Thaikhun, Unit 17 , 3 Hardman Street, The Avenue, Spinningfields, Manchester, M3 3FL. Tel 0161 8192065, www.thaikhun.co.uk
