A club night set apart from the rest is due to visit our rainy city for the first time this week. Nonclassical is a classical club night that, since 2004, has been establishing its place at the heart of the alternative-classical scene. For this gig, Nonclassical’s debut in Manchester, the organisers will be delving into the art of remix with the help of virtuosos in contemporary classical music and turntablism – including composer/producer extraordinaire (and Nonclassical founder) Gabriel Prokofiev and three-time DMC world championship DJ, Mr Switch. The bill will also include Consortium5 presenting live remixes of their critically acclaimed album Tangled Pipes, plus complex cello multitracks by Peter Gregson and Oliver Farrant, with Gabriel Prokofiev himself on hand to remix.
