There may be a few burger joints in the Northern Quarter, but the first modern Victorian restaurant is set to open its doors. Fress has taken up residency in a former newsagent on Oldham Street, next to The Castle. Independently owned, it promises to be a ‘sophisticated yet relaxed eatery’, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a cocktail list and carefully constructed wine list. With only 40 covers in the restaurant, the menu in the intimate setting will focus on seasonal food with influences from the Middle East and Europe. Watch this space for a review to follow.

Fress, 62 Oldham Street, Manchester, M4 1LE, follow @FressRestaurant  for updates.
