Celebrating the 90th birthday of the British national dance company, Rambert, The Lowry host an exhibition that explores the common themes between contemporary art and contemporary dance. Perpetual Movement, a phrase coined by founder Dame Marie Rambert, will feature the work of four artists: Turner Prize-nominee (2008) Goshka Macuga, Scottish conceptual artist Katie Pearson, Berlin-based Michaela Zimmer and digital artist Leila Johnston. Coinciding with this new work will be old archival material from Rambert including original dance costumes from Andree Howard’s ‘Lady into Fox’ and Dame Rambert’s notebooks which contain handwritten manuscripts from her autobiography.
