Salford Museum & Art Gallery is showcasing paintings by Colin Binns as part of a wide-ranging retrospective called Being There. Binn’s individual style offers a vibrant take on the evolution of contemporary towns and cities, in particular, Manchester since the IRA bomb in 1996. The 90-piece collection explores Binn’s fascination with colour, form and instinct for movement found in studying the landscapes of towns and cities. His composition is typically both conflicting and harmonious with a suggestion of more than one viewpoint.
