Canadian music festival Pop Montreal is uprooting to pastures European, presenting three hotly tipped acts from Quebec to Manchester’s Soup Kitchen. The annual citywide event has more than ten years of scouting under its belt, so the passengers on their POP Off Europe tour bus comes highly recommended. Top-billed in Manchester is Foxtrott’s finely crafted, fidgety electro-pop, while the indie-tronic Wake Island channel tones akin to Fujiya & Miyagi and Junior Boys, and soul-voiced groover L.A. Foster takes a turn warming up the amps.
