Proper Tea, a new venture by Teacup, opens today (Sat 30 Nov) at Manchester Cathedral. The tearoom, which you’ll find above the historical Hanging Bridge in the cathedral’s visitors centre, is fronted by broadcaster and tea fanatic Yvette Fielding. It offers fine loose leaf teas and acts as a flagship store for the soon-to-be-launched Proper Tea Company. As well as over 100 tea options, visitors can choose from afternoon teas, cream teas and cakes alongside stews, soups and sandwiches. The kitchen offers food sourced from artisan producers and farms from across the North West, and incorporates fresh herbs and honey grown in the cathedral grounds. Neighbouring wine merchants HangingDitch, meanwhile, provides a wine list.
