The team behind luxury eatery San Carlo is preparing to open its sixth venue in Manchester later this year. Famed for enticing football stars and celebrities, the San Carlo group will be introducing FUMO to Number 1 St Peter’s Square, the new tower block currently under construction. It is set to be the largest outlet from the group, which already boasts San Carlo on King Street, Cicchetti on the ground floor of House of Fraser, and Bottega and Farmacia Del Dolce, based in Selfridges. FUMO, which already has an award-winning branch in Birmingham (pictured), is described as a ‘concept cocktail bar, all day restaurant and late lounge’, and has received acclaim from the likes of The Times, which featured it in its Top 10 Italian restaurants. The Manchester site is expected to offer chic surroundings in which guests can dine on fresh Italian food, made with seasonal ingredients. Situated on the ground and first floors of the building, FUMO will be linked together by a spiral staircase, and an external terrace will allow for al fresco dining. FUMO is scheduled to open in late October or early November.
