Sankeys has had a turbulent history, quite simply. Their relationship with Manchester would be ‘Complicated’ if they had Facebook accounts, and that’s an understatement. Having started in 1994 and closing a number of times, they have since spread their seed to London, New York and Ibiza, whom they regularly ditch Manchester for over the summer months. They re-opened at the start of this year and what do you know, they’ve made it 20 years. Having housed acts such as Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers, Dave Clarke plus many, many more, they bring 2manydjs to celebrate their second decade in existence. Known for their high-velocity and often frenetic remixes, their Belgian hands have worked their magic on tracks by artists such as LCD Soundsystem and Justice. Their Soulwax-mas parties get punters more excited about the festive season than their mum’s Christmas dinner, and with Justin Robertson and Oldboy joining the bill (and others), you’ve got something to work your appetite up for.
