Nothing says Christmas like a visit to see Father Christmas – and Santa’s Grotto at Chill Factoris the only grotto in the UK on real snow. Open daily through December from 10am-7.30pm, slots are still available in the run up to Christmas – and there are various packages to choose from. Every visit includes the chance to explore the snow attractions at the North West’s premier leisure destination – under-4s can enjoy Mini Moose Land and over-4s (including adults) can have fun on The Snow Park. Simply arrive and get kitted out in snow gear (or bring your own) before meeting Santa. As you step in and feel the crunch of real snow, you’ll be greeted by the elves who will lead you to Santa’s home surrounded by festive trees and fairy lights. What lies within is obviously top secret, but the elves have done a great job of making the grotto look awesome. A visit to see Santa wouldn’t be complete without receiving a gift and there’s one available for each person that discovers the magic of Santa’s Grotto and grants their Christmas wishes to the man himself. There’s loads to see and do at Chill Factor before and after your visit to Santa too. From bars and ice cream parlours to climbing walls and specialist ski, outdoor and snowboarding shops (including local Manchester brand, Subvert) it’s a proper, Alpine playground. The ‘ski-slope’ shaped landmark is the UK’s longest indoor ski slope; so big, in fact, that Santa’s elves at the Chill Factor have approached Trafford Council to propose installing a 180m x 30m Santa Stop sign on the roof to herald the arrival of Santa each year (see pic). Watch this space for more.
