St Anthony: launch party for Tony Wilson tribute song at Old Granada Studios

This Friday, Old Granada Studios will host the launch party for St Anthony – An Ode to Anthony H. Wilson, a new single that will be debuted at the event, along with an accompanying video. The song began life as a poem by Mike Garry, which Joe Duddell then set to music, using elements of New Order’s Your Silent Face. The video features Tony Wilson’s friends and admirers, each reciting a line from the poem. Contributors include: Shaun Ryder, Iggy Pop, Christopher Eccleston, John Cooper Clarke, Philip Glass and many others. The event will include a live performance of the song, and some special guest DJs. There will be a screening of the video, along with exclusive interview footage from the shoot. The single is released the same day on Skinny Dog Records, featuring artwork by former Factory Records designer Peter Saville. All proceeds from the event and single will go the Christie Charitable Fund.
