Gullivers and the Castle Hotel in the Northern Quarter regularly host spoken word nights under various banners, but as enjoyable as they are individually they are almost crying out to be combined into one larger event. Thankfully two of the bigger nights, Bad Language and Tales of Whatever have joined forces, if only for a Christmas special. The resulting melange, Tales of Bad Language, will take place at Gullivers next week, and will feature both true stories and fiction, and possibly a blurring of both. Expect the regular raconteurs and newcomers offering everything from polemic to poetry, along with some audience participation – but don’t worry, there won’t be anything embarrassing.
