With all the fairy lights and strands of tinsel, Christmas is one of the most psychedelic times of the year. Well, possibly not, but it’s a good excuse to host a night of mind-altering music. Taking place at Soup Kitchen, The Psychmare Before Christmas is a night of alternative bands rocking out into the wee small hours, featuring headliners The KVB, a duo of industrial-tinged drone rockers who have released several albums and EPs and have garnered good reviews from the Quietus and the NME. Saint Agnes are another duo, this one from the wilds of East London, whose psych music has a Western flavour and a DIY approach to music that has meant their recent debut EP was recorded in a basement. Local up-and-coming four-piece Enemies Eyes will also unveil their brand new line-up at this gig.
