Manchester International Festival has announced plans for a 5000-capacity big-screen relay of Sir Kenneth Branagh’s return to the Shakespearean stage in July. With tickets for Macbeth having sold out, MIF is offering this ‘second chance’ to catch the celebrated actor (pictured) in action on Saturday 20 July. With The xx’s ultra-intimate residency the only other sold-out show so far, there are still plenty of chances to catch a host of events at the rest of this year’s festival. As we revealed last week, 2013’s festival programme features a host of big names and newcomers, including Massive Attack v Adam Curtis, Despacio (featuring LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and 2manydjs), Mogwai, Matthew Barney, M O N E Y and new work by radical director, Robert Wilson.
