As everyone who lives here knows, there’s much more to Manchester than meets the eye. For visitors and locals alike, a great way to get under the surface of the city is to take a tour. We’ve rounded up four of the diverse tours available on Eventbrite right now. They range from the outdoorsy to the urban – something for everyone, we think you’ll agree.

1. Out of Bounds walk at Tatton Park
Join the Rangers for a guided walk in areas not normally open to the public. Sounds good to us. Given that there are more than 1000 acres of Tatton Park that are open to the public, they’ve got to pull something pretty special out of the bag for this one. You’ll learn about the birds, animals and plants that live here.
Tue 12 May, Tatton Park, Knutsford, WA16 6QN, 10am-1pm, £10, www.eventbrite.co.uk

2. Manchester Modern Orbital Infrastructure
Join The Manchester Modernist Society on a day tour around the city’s orbital motorway looking at industrial and infrastructure buildings. Richard Brook, creator of Mainstream Modern is your host, and the tour will include Barton Airport (including a listed control tower and G Noel Hill-designed hangar from 1928), Sharston Bus Depot (1942), Heaton Park Water Inlet Building, and Taylor Young’s concrete factory in Denton (1959), plus the Heaton Park BT tower and many more. Bus will leave from Fairfield Street at the rear of Piccadilly Station at 10am.
