Gotta dance? Northern Quarter venue Mint Lounge’s resident club nights take in some of the longest-running floor fillers in the city. The weekly Funkademia (Saturdays, 10.30pm-4am, £5/6) celebrates 20 years of soul, funk, disco, hip hop while Top of the Pops (every Fri, 10.30pm-4am, £3/4) is a worthy rival to its longevity and offers a one-stop shop for monster hits, and dance floor faves. If you like this sound of this one, free guest list is available for Top Of The Pops (email bookings[at]mintlounge[dot]com with your table booking for this one). As well as the regular nights there are a host of one-offs and special guests to look out for. This month, the bass music leaning Sick Chirpse team up with legendary Mcr underground music promoters, Hit & Run for a night headlined by Swindle (Mon 26 Sep, 10pm-4am, £1.50/3/6). Like the sound of this one? You’ll love House of Flying Daggers Mint Lounge edition (Tue 4 Oct, 11pm-4am, £5, www.skiddle.com), with the London producer collective, Crazy Cousinz – expect the best in UK funky alongside dancehall, garage and RnB. For house, techno and minimal fans, look no further than Vibrations (Thu 6 Oct, 10pm-4am, £3, www.skiddle.com) Other highlights include a massive welcome party for students in the shape of Superfresh Superhero Party (Tue 20 Sep, 10pm-3am, £9.50/£10). Whether you’d like to be Buffy or Batman this is your chance to shine –  on a night (re)filled with excellent drinks deals. Pirate Material (Thu 29 Sep, 11pm-4am, £TBC) returns to the venue for another healthy dose of drum and bass, jungle, grime and UK garage. Past guests including Zed Bias and D Double E – so expect bone crunching beats to reign.
