Rising garage rock stars Brown Brogues played an exclusive gig in Bench Self Made’s lunchtime gig series earlier this month. The Wigan duo, comprised of Mark Vernon (guitar) and Ben Mather (drums) have drawn on fuzz, grunge and 1960s garage, accruing a bounty of fans as well as playing SXSW twice and circumnavigated the UK with The Kills over the last three years. With a clutch of sold-out 7-inches to their name, this free show was in honour of the release of their debut album, Born to Lose, on Ultra Cool. Check out Brown Brogues’ acoustic set and interview at Lunch Time Live – and catch up with them at Soup Kitchen on Tuesday 23 April. Follow them on Twitter here.
