Jazz percussionist and composer Myele Manzanza is to grace the stage at Band on the Wall, playing the Manchester show as a trio with bassist Matt Dal Din and keyboard tinkler Aron Ottignon. Since graduating from the New Zealand soul scene, his musical journey has spanned genres, with collaborators ranging from dance maestro Theo Parrish to Australian drum and bass themed dance group, KAGE. Released late last year via esteemed London label First Word Records, Manzanza’s live album, OnePointOne, whets the aural appetite with its balance of fast-paced dexterity and groove-laden ambience, featuring a vibrant mix of covers and material from his 2013 debut LP, One. We’re giving away a pair of tickets for Myele Manzanza Trio’s show at Band on the Wall.
