Manchester-based photographer Paul Wolfgang Webster is launching his new exhibition next week. ‘Women of the North’ will be displayed at the Royal Exchange Theatre’s Mezzanine Gallery. The portrait collection will include some famous faces, such as actress Anne Reid (pictured), and some women you might only recognise from their achievements. The exhibition is part of ‘Made in the North’, Webster’s long-running project which centres on capturing people from the region who have made a significant contribution to society. Works by Webster have been displayed in New York’s Circle Gallery, and are part of the National Portrait Gallery’s permanent collection. The collection at the Mezzanine Gallery changes with each play in the theatre, and this exhibition coincides with Hamlet, starring Maxine Peake.
