1980s R&B legend Alexander O’Neal is set to revive his classics at Band on the Wall with Manchester funk exports Mamma Freedom. With a popular music legacy secured thanks to a flurry of hits that helped to define the sound of the decade, O’Neal recently stepped back into the limelight 30 years on, as Mamma Freedom joined him to re-record his 1987 single ‘Fake’. The eight-piece band have amassed a hip-shaking arsenal of funky covers, gaining plaudits near and far since relocating across the pond in New York, making this rare homecoming a show not to miss.
