Though live music acts at Islington Mill don’t come as often as its fellow Manchester-based venues, they are responsible for cherry-picking some of the best artists for the viewing and listening pleasure of its audiences. They continue this streak in June with Dan Deacon, whose notable live shows include large-scale audience participation to accompany his boundlessly energetic tracks. He performs in support of his latest record, Gliss Riffer, where you’ll find a storm of loud, unrelenting percussion coupled with distorted vocals and over-stimulating looping synth riffs oozing with glittering electronica. Deacon famously sets up shop on floor-level surrounded by his audience, and we’d bet a ton of (metaphorical) dollar that your feet won’t have a moment of inactivity.
