Bespoke clothing specialists Sew What are hosting two workshops at Islington Mill which aim to help people improve their handicraft skills. The first session (Thu 23 Mar) covers how to use a sewing machine including how to thread a machine, change the needle and use the various types of stitch. By the end of the two hours you will (hopefully) have completed a tote bag with the fabric provided. At the second session (Sat 22 Apr) aspiring tailors can learn how to make pyjama bottoms. For this longer session, you will need some basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine, but you will get tuition into using the more specific gizmos. Attendees should bring two metres of their own choice of fabric. Tea, coffee, and snacks are provided at both events.
