Craig Charles’ monthly funk throwdown is a Manchester staple at Band On The Wall, an always full-to-the brim celebration of soulful sounds steered by Craig who has a knack for whipping his crowd up into a sweaty frenzy. The night is vital to the UK funk scene in that it brings exposure to acts that you’ll rarely catch elsewhere. This month, Manchester heavy funk connoisseurs The Exacters step up to the stage. Their debut 45 single, Ain’t Gonna Lie, was released last year on Bremen/London Our Label Records and featured the amazing Roxie Ray (Dojo Cuts, Lack Of Afro) on vocals. Their live incarnation includes a four piece rhythm section, a four piece horn section and vocals from Pareidolia’s enchantingly soulful Yemi Bolatiwa.
