The label that Nils Frahm and Rival Consoles can call home, Erased Tapes, will be releasing Transition, the joint EP of Bristol-based producer Vessel and Liverpool-based neo-classical ensemble Immix. Originally performed at London’s Tate Modern in late 2014, the theme of Transition concentrates on technology, where each instrument acts as a snapshot of innovative technology from a specific place and time in history; some of these snapshots can be traced as far back to 1500BC. Vessel’s solo post-industrial and visceral work made him a prized partner for Immix and together they’ll explore musical tools whose creation coincides with significant events in history.
