With the wax on their Brownswood endorsed debut album still setting, Yussef Kamaal are heading to Salford arts hive Islington Mill to perform the fruits of their collaboration. Born from a 2015 Boiler Room session first intended as a one-off, the South East London keys/drums combo of Yussef Dayes and Kamaal Williams have gone onto make a habit of blending their dexterous jazz, sharing vibes familiar to fans of Thelonius Monk and more recently coined by jazz/hip hop crossover acts like BadBadNotGood. Black Focus is due to drop on Fri 4 Nov, so you can warm to their sounds in advance of the Salford show, which also sees Ninja Tune percussionist Sarathy Korwar in support and record selections by So Flute DJs Danuka and Yadava.
