It was the world’s largest telescope on completion in 1957, and now Jodrell Bank is not only the icon of science and engineering, but also the host of bluedot festival; the inaugural event of which was nominated in six categories at the UK Festival Awards. For its tender second year, expectations are high but the festival organisers are certain of raising the bar further. Offering a unique programme of arts and culture that includes diverse acts on the musical spectrum (last year included Jean-Michael Jarre, Underworld and Brian Eno, to name a few) and mind-expanding scientific happenings, punters can expect an exceptional selection of talent in the scientific, literary and arts communities across space orchestras, talks, screenings, lectures, comedies, debates and activities.
