It seems the folks at the Museum of Science and Industry are loosening up a bit this summer with PLAY It!, a two-week-long video gaming festival. It involves computers, so we guess it counts as science. Throughout six themed zones, there will be over 120 games -from classics such as Pong and Pac-Man, through to modern hits like Minecraft and Halo. Visitors will find all the consoles from the Amiga to the ZX Spectrum. And fear not: there are also proper gaming machines for members of the PC Master Race. You can enter multiplayer competitions – and with a family ticket, you can play against your own clan. There are three 90-minute-long gaming sessions throughout the day, plus full-day tickets are also available. There’s even the occasional evening session if you fancy staring at another computer screen after work.
