Over the course of 32 years, various cities around the world have been connected on one day by complete strangers doing the same thing at the same time together. The Planetary Dance is only coming to Manchester for only the second time, having been gifted to the city through the Manchester | Rennes Exchange last year, with a simplified version being performed as the rainy city eased into things. 2013 sees the whole hog being undergone – which involves a walk in concentric circles for approximately an hour, in which anyone can join or leave at any point. Originally conceived by American choreographer Anna Halprin, this is 33rd annual edition worldwide, and Manchester’s edition is presented in collaboration with MIF’s Do It 20 13.
