An exciting and eclectic line-up has been compiled by the Whitworth Young Contemporaries (WYC) group for the next outing of the redeveloped gallery’s Thursday Lates series. Headlining in the limited capacity Grand Hall are the electronic duo D/R/U/G/S, with musical support from King Burga, Lady Ice and Ivan Ooze. Elsewhere, Contact theatre regulars Young Identity and Inna Voice present a spoken word workshop followed by a performance, MC collective Free Wize Men compere the Promenade stage and the Whitworth on Fire team are leading a workshop to teach circus skills in the Art Garden. You’ll also find creative workshops on site, alongside the opportunity to try screen printing courtesy of One69A. The whole event aims to support and promote local artists between the ages of 15 and 25, offering a platform for the finest up-and-coming talent bubbling under this city’s radar. Whitworth Young Contemporaries is part of Circuit, led by Tate and funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
