Making amusement park horrors like Final Destination 3 and Zombieland seem tame, Southport’s Pleasureland has fallen under a Halloween darkness to give visitors the fright of their life. After the families have gone home for the day, the Merseyside theme park turns nightmare from 6pm. Thrills include an evil clown, Typhus, pouncing on unsuspecting guests. Guests are challenged to steer clear of their face-painted predator’s hunting games while special, four-hour passes give revellers free reign to enjoy rides under the night sky. Themed scare houses open their doors which are locked during the day while a major attraction is the Zombie Zoo. Located in the Park’s real-life abandoned zoo area, complete with overgrown animal cages and crumbling signs, this sounds truly terrifying. For the less adventurous, the bars stay open to offer shelter from the anarchy.
