The happiness index is going through the roof at The Blue Pig’s cocktail-fuelled Friday wind-down where you can step into a realm of hedonistic bliss at affordable prices from noon. Selected £5 cocktails include a range of originals such as house favourite, Madame No 2, a robust French beauty that takes in vanilla Absolut vodka, Cartron Framboise, passion fruit, pineapple and bubbles. Give yourself a boost with Bureau de Ginge’s homemade ginger tincture in your glass, alongside vodka, grapefruit, orange and lime marmalade. Selected classic blends include The Big Teasy’s New Orleans jazz club vibe; a groovy little number twisting Buffalo Trace bourbon, house-made peach and English tea puree, mint and bitters. We also recommend Clover Club, born from a fruit-filled fusion of Beefeater gin, Dolin Dry vermouth, raspberry and lemon – or go for a traditional weekend starter like the NYC-inspired Cosmopolitan made with Absolut vodka Citron, Cartron triple sec, cranberry and lime. Other options include £10 bottles of wine and £3 draught ales (noon -9pm only). Entertainment is included as part the package with a  soundtrack laid down by DJ Swindells (pictured). Expect the best; he’s DJed alongside the Nightmares on Wax crew and The Mouse Outfit.
