Thu 16 Oct | Eliphino & Deadboy | Joshua Brooks
Solid midweek fun here, with two extremely strong headline DJs. Eliphino has been carving out his own niche for a while now, comfortable at many tempos and with excellent releases on the likes of Somethink Sounds and Hypercolour. Deadboy has come a long way since his breakthrough track If U Want Me on Numbers – he’s another DJ whose discography doesn’t tell the whole story, sets will take in R&B, reggae and more. Support is in the able hands of Oldboy and Metrodome.

Fri 17 Oct | Swing Ting | Soup Kitchen
We’ve moved to a Friday for one month only, and for this month we’re bringing you a real treat. DJ BBrave is the founder of the amazing Akwaaba label, created to be a launchpad for contemporary African artists outside of their usual audience. Releases on the label have seen the likes of EL, 4×4 and loads of other party-starting gems. A great DJ, he’ll be backed up by Samrai, Joey B and myself. Fox is away on international duty, but stepping in on the mic is one of our favourites, Kwasi. As always, it’s £5 on the door all night.

Sat 18/Sun 19 Oct | 10 Years of Mind On Fire | Soup Kitchen/Twenty Twenty Two/The Liars Club
To go ten years strong is a ridiculous achievement in a city as fickle and brutal as Manchester. The big one-zero marks the end of an era for Mind On Fire, as the collective move on to other projects after this, but not before a whole weekend of festivities. With a hard-to-pin-down sound, expect soul-infused hiphop, beats and finely selected curveballs. Saturday daytime sees them take over Soup Kitchen until 9pm, at which time the party moves to Twenty Twenty Two late into the night. Things get going again down at The Liars Club on Sunday evening, with their swan-song finishing at 3 in the morning. Will be missed.
