Manchester’s food and drink news this week includes the return of Levenshulme’s summer night market, supper clubs from Harvey Nichols and Robert Owen Brown, and a special screening of Chef accompanied by food inspired by the film at new OGS venue, Cork and Bull.

Levenhulme is set to enjoy a summer night market this Friday from the Levy Market crew,  just two minutes walk from Levenshulme train station. Expect good weather, street food, gifts, crafts, live music and more as well as excellent drinks on offer at the Market’s Buttery Bar. Supper Club: Robert Owen Brown at The Chef’s Quarter
Newly opened Bolton venue, The Chef’s Quarter at the Vaults is hosting a supper club this weekend with chef Robert Owen Brown. Expect a trademark menu using regional and seasonal ingredients featuring curd cheese with honey, caraway and roasted beetroot, loin of lamb with artichoke, dandelion and burdock caramelised onions. The Vaults is 10 minutes from Bolton train station.

Supper club: Butchery night at Harvey Nicks
Tickets are now available for what is promised to be an evening of brilliant butchery at Harvey Nichols. As well as a meal there will be live demonstrations from local butchers J&L Wood & Sons. The menu includes canapés, 40-day aged rump steak with chimichurri,  courgette flower with za’atar and ricotta, ribeye steak with chips and béarnaise sauce and a strawberry rice condé. Tickets are £35 and include a drinks reception. Head down for a butchers.

Cinefeast: screening of Chef at Cork and Bull with food inspired by the film
New venue, Cork and Bull, at Old Granada Studios plays host to a pop up cinema and immersive food experience to accompany a screening of Chef, starring Jon Favreau. The film follows the titular character as he attempts to rediscover his love of cooking through creating street food on the road. Expect a menu of spicy delights in great company with either a three course food truck menu served in a tray including the famous Cubano sandwich and icing sugar dusted beignets (£25) or a full 7 course ‘El Jefe’ menu, recreating dishes from chef’s restaurant in the film.
