Rebellious cross-stitch artist, Katherine Beefheart, has a current exhibition at Kosmonaut titled, It’s Everything I Expected and Less. As part of the show, she is running workshops focusing on teaching the tricks of the trade that she has been engaged with for over three decades. Her work is made up of short and sharp phrases that reflect upon life, often alleviated with a comical twist, and then carefully, and artfully, embroidered to make works that subvert our idea of traditional antique cross-stitch. Look out for fourteen of her most playful art works, adorning the walls of Kosmonaut with mantras like She Who Dares Gins and It’s Not Worth Getting Into The Bullshit To Find Out What The Bull Ate.
