Back in 1996, Manchester-born illustrator Stanley Chow hosted his first solo exhibition ‘Stan’s People’ in the establishment that was to become Kosmonaut. It’s certainly been a while – with Chow’s career, the city and the site itself all having undergone various changes in the past 17 years or so – but now he is returning to showcase his new collection of works entitled Damsels in Distress. The exhibition is based on iconic women and was inspired largely by his daughter’s ‘Disney phase’, which is a childhood memory and rite of passage that will no doubt stir up familiar feelings with visitors of all ages. The launch night takes place on Thu 5 Dec, luring the punters in with plenty of drinks and music from the Damsel Sister DJs.
