A 10-piece band will bring a show inspired by Talking Heads’ legendary concert film Stop Making Sense to the Albert Hall next spring.
Released in 1984 by the group and Jonathan Demme, the film is widely lauded as one of the greatest pieces of music cinema of all time.
Beginning with David Byrne walking on stage with nothing but a guitar and beatbox performing Psycho Killer, he is gradually joined first by band members Tina Weymout, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison, and then a series of percussionists, backing singers and other virtuous musicians.
Sadly, the tour which preceded the film was the last from the band, and fans have never been able to see the magic that was created that night in person.
Slippery People are now set to recreate that performance at the Albert Hall, following on from their incredible debut at Gorilla that sold out in a matter of weeks.
Audiences can expect pulsating basslines, big suits, wild synths and some extra special surprises.
Slippery People will bring their acclaimed live show to the Albert Hall on Fri 10 Apr. Tickets are on sale Thu 19 Jun, grab yours using the button below.
