While all good things may come to an end, great things are at least extended, as eclectic pop up extravaganza 4244 Edge Street has announced an extended stay at its popular Northern Quarter spot. Open until 23rd December 2014, and in response to excessive demand, the restaurant has proved a permanent place in many culinary adventurous hearts, with chef and patron Mary-Ellen McTague of Aumbry and Guardian food writing fame leading the charge. With a five course taster menu paying homage to the seasonal advantages of hearty cuisine, winter favourites such as Slow Cooked Sika deer, Toasted Chestnuts and English Truffle are served up alongside more intriguing offerings such as Cured Hair Loin. With a vegetarian taster menu also available, 4244 Edge Street brings a new style of fine dining to Manchester, one with enough gusto to warm the cockles this winter.
