Manchester institution Eastern Bloc Records has unveiled plans to celebrate its 40th year in the business.
A genuine pioneering force of the city’s music scene, Eastern Bloc has been a vital hub for underground music, paving the way for the UK’s embracing of techno and other such genres.
The venue has also had a major role to play in the development of familiar names like A Guy Called Gerald, 808 State and Marcus Intalex, and continues to operate as a Northern Quarter cornerstone of independent music culture.
Eastern Bloc will be teaming up with another local favourite in Manchester brewery Shindigger, to create a celebratory can for the weekend’s festivities, which run from Fri 25 Jul – Sun 27 Jul, as well as providing an outdoor bar for a Saturday street party.
Across the weekend, a seriously stacked lineup will feature names like Mr Scruff, Graham Massey (808 State), Kerrie, Mark XTC, Krysko B2B Greg Lord, DJ Fabrication, Rick Donohue, and loads more.
Timings for each day are as follows:
Fri 25 Jul: 12pm – 3am
Sat 26 Jul: 12pm – 3am
Sun 27 Jul: – 12pm – 9pm
Keep an eye on the Eastern Bloc Instagram for full day splits.
