This October, the world-leading choir Tenebrae joins forces with the groundbreaking Third Culture Collective to present a seamless, captivating union of Western traditions and South Asian forms at The Bridgewater Hall.
Staged as part of the International Concert Series, this exhilarating new collaboration blends Tenebrae’s complex harmony and notation with Third Culture Collective’s raga-based intricacy and thrilling spontaneity, producing a symbiotic soundscape of soaring Hindustani vocals, delicate instrumental textures and traditional Western choir.
Led by the two directors, Nigel Short and Kavi Pau, the united ensembles debut a full programme of reimagined works and shared arrangements in a dazzling celebration of cultural connection.
