This autumn, music and compassion unite in an uplifting lunchtime concert in support of Maggie’s Cancer Centre at The Bridgewater Hall.

Love – The Essence of Life, presented by Opera Vera, is described as a heartfelt celebration of love as a source of hope, strength, and resilience for those facing life’s most difficult challenges.

At the heart of the concert is acclaimed soprano Yuliya Trishkeu, Opera Vera’s founding Artistic Director. Celebrated for her vocal brilliance, compelling stagecraft, and emotionally nuanced interpretations, Yuliya has earned international acclaim, including the Gold Medal Opera Prize at the VI Alion Baltic International Music Competition and top honours at major competitions across Europe and Australia.

She has appeared on prestigious stages across the UK and Europe, including the world-renowned Wigmore Hall, and now brings her artistry to The Bridgewater Hall for a concert dedicated to raising vital funds for Maggie’s Cancer Centre.

Taking place on Wed 1 Oct, at 2pm, Yuliya will be joined by pianist and music director James Gillett in the Barbirolli Room at The Bridgewater Hall for a luminous programme of Bellini, Rimsky-Korsakov, Dvořák, Puccini, and more. Each aria and song has been chosen to reflect love in its many forms – romantic, familial, and spiritual – and to remind us of the power of music to heal, inspire, and unite.

Maggie’s Cancer Centre offers free, expert care and support to anyone affected by cancer. All proceeds from this concert will go directly to Maggie’s, helping to provide a vital lifeline for individuals and families in the Manchester community.

Love – The Essence of Life is about more than beautiful music,” says Yuliya. “It’s about using art to make a tangible difference – lifting spirits, sparking connection, and giving back to those who give so much.”
