Doves have announced two additional live dates to their upcoming December UK tour, one of which will be a special show at Manchester’s O2 Apollo.
It marks the first time since 2007 that Doves have performed at the venue. The news coincides with the upcoming release of So, Here We Are: Best of Doves, a greatest hits collection spanning three decades of the band.
Announced for release earlier this month on multiple formats, becoming the first Doves compilation available on vinyl, the record will include era-defining tracks like Black And White Town, Pounding and There Goes The Fear. It will also feature the previously unheard Spirit Of Your Friend, an unearthed gem, recorded in 2006 as part of the Kingdom Of Rust sessions.
Band co-founder and singer on many of the Doves’ hits, Jimi Goodwin says: “So, here we are… a ‘best of’ can be a difficult thing to pull off but it was surprisingly easy once we got thinking. It’s by no means complete but, then how could it be? It’s been revelatory and somehow cathartic, revising what we’ve achieved together. I mean, wow! Did we really write this stuff?”
Doves’. newly announced O2 Apollo date will be happening on Sat 20 Dec. Tickets go on sale Wed 3 Sep at 10am.
