This autumn, The Edge Theatre invites new parents and their toddlers to enjoy a pair of uplifting daytime events designed especially with babies in mind, offering the perfect excuse to get out of the house, connect with others and revel in first-class live comedy and music in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

On Fri 19 Sep and Fri 10 Oct (1pm), The Edge’s beloved toddler-friendly comedy club Mum’s the Word returns with a line-up of stellar comics, hosted by Kate McCabe. Designed specifically for parents, friends or relatives with under-18-month babies, this uniquely easygoing and inclusive special happily accommodates nursing, feeding, changing and, of course, crying, while the seasoned stand-ups perform their usual grown-up material.

On Fri 17 Oct (1pm), The Gelatos bring their irresistible all-singing, all-playing jazz energy to Chorlton with a dazzling parent-and-child setlist that brings to life the rollicking sounds of the 1940s and ‘50s. From tender lullabies and close harmonies to foot-tapping ditties and quirky swing numbers, their repertoire guarantees a delightful day of music and a joyful chance to enjoy high-quality live entertainment without worrying about childcare.
