In February 2026, the English National Opera takes its first ever bow at The Bridgewater Hall with two semi-staged performances of Mozart’s lustrous comic opera, Cosi fan tutte.
While Ferrando and Guglielmo believe they’re settled happily in a life of romantic bliss, their older brother Don Alfonso takes a more cynical view: ‘Cosi fan tutte’ – women are all the same. Keen to prove his theory and save his siblings from heartache, he offers a mischievous wager in a bid to bring them to their senses.
Hailed as a timeless a comic masterpiece that celebrates love, loyalty and timeless human foibles with Mozart’s trademark wit and luminous melodies, ENO’s production of Cosi fan tutte is led by fast-rising director Ruth Knight and a glittering cast of singers in a semi-staged show direct from London Coliseum. The performance forms part of ENO’s landmark new partnership with Greater Manchester, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the city’s musical life.
